In partnership with Danish and Swiss designer Søren Henrichsen, Mizensir unveils a new object, the Cuckoo Clock Scented by the emblematic fragrance of Mizensir: Sapin de Noël.
Driven by a common passion for creativity, Swiss made and excellence, Søren Henrichsen and Mizensir have combined their unique know-how to give a new olfactory dimension to the cuckoo clock, a magical object emblematic of watchmaking craftsmanship.
The two Geneva-based companies, Mizensir and Søren Henrichsen, have imagined sublimating the design of the object through perfume with an olfactory presentation of the object.
For this first collaboration, the idea was born to apply a scented varnish on the HANSRUEDI cuckoo clock with the iconic fragrance of the house Mizensir, Sapin de Noëlto evoke the emotion of wood, the Black Forest and the magic of Christmas.
All HANSRUEDI watches are also manufactured in Geneva in the SGIPA Foundation's own workshops. The mechanism comes from the Black Forest, the historical birthplace of the cuckoo clock. All the wooden parts are made from indigenous species (Oak and Ash).
The raw material is local and so is the work. It is therefore a project that favours short circuits and reduces grey energy emissions to a minimum, while at the same time providing a strong stimulus to the creativity of the local art scene.
Each cuckoo is tested for 48 hours, inspected, packed and shipped. Please do not touch the bird when it is outside, it may not want to go home.
Søren Henrichsen is a Danish and Swiss designer. He is inspired by his origins to combine Swiss precision and Scandinavian simplicity in his objects. His design studio was founded in Geneva in 2013 and is now a publishing house. He particularly values collaborations with talented craftsmen and designers.
"Søren Henrichsen is a young Geneva-based designer who combines Swiss precision with Scandinavian simplicity, craftsmanship with technology. Søren Henrichsen works mainly with wood and leather and his objects are self-produced in the vicinity of Geneva, employing people with disabilities. The designer masters all the stages of creation with a local and social commitment and offers his objects "to simplify life, but also for pleasure". Following the example of his best-seller, the handmade cuckoo clock, "Hansruedi", or his magnetised key ring, "Woodee", Søren Henrichsen puts forward the singular character of a material coming directly from nature with always in mind, the idea of transmission and durability of the object.
