Following the first breed for Water Odyssey, expedition launched by the Foundation in 2015 to make the first global inventory of ocean pollution by plastics, the observation is final:there plastic pollution is everywhere. There is no 7th continent or plastic island, but a plastic waste soup floating in "gyres". Only a tiny part remains visible on the surface. The majority has flowed or fragmented in infinitely small. A large -scale cleaning of the oceans is therefore unrealistic. Only earth -based solutions can effectively fight this scourge from the 21st century.
